A Sixty (60) Day Notice to Vacate for section 8 tenants is the form used in order to inform a Tenant with an existing written lease that it shall not be renewed. The Landlord must make sure that the Tenant receives this notice at least sixty days prior to the expiration of the lease. This notice expires no earlier than the last day of the Tenant’s lease-term. In the event that the Tenant fails to vacate, then the Landlord may file an eviction action in a court of law.
In order to fill out the form you will need the following information: Landlord’s name, address, phone number, Tenant’s name, address of the rental property, and the specific non-rent related issues (i.e., that the lease shall not be renewed). For all notices given to section 8 tenants the Landlord must send a letter and a copy of the notice to the local public housing authority advising them of the situation (please review your contract to locate this information).
